The fifth round of the world enduro championships were held in the Greek township of Meteora and Kalampaka and was battled out in gruelling heat and dust with Gas Gas rider Chistophe Nambotin unbeaten on both days coming home with a double victory in the E3 class and securing the fight for the championship.
With a disappointing DNF on day two in Turkey this double victory has given Gas Gas and Nambotin much needed points for the championship. Christophe said undoubtedly I am very happy. "It's my first double victory and it has been a good way to get the disappointment of the DNF in Turkey out of my mind. Everything went great this week end the bike worked perfectly so I have to congratulate everyone." Ivan Cervantes was not as rewarded in Greece with a DNF on day one and a well eared third place in the E2 class on day two. It was a shame for Ivan not to take advantage of his closest competitors Renet and Aubet that also had a DNF at the Greek round, but to make matters worse Ivan also suffered a slight knee injury. The next round will be held in Romania on the 9 -10 July. |
